okay as you know the j1s have joined us! yay i was thinking we should have some sort of party to welcome them! and maybe we can also start letting them post on this blog as well [;

okay here's another thing..what do you guys think of another concert? this time combined with the j1s? we can like work with them and do lots of stuff!

oh oh and this j1 batch has quite a wide variety of instruments so we can begin writing interesting stuffs for our compo! we got a harpist, a trombonist, flautist, and guzhengist! (i hope i didn't leave out any uncommon instrument) yeah let's give out j1s a good time in MEP as well too okay [; we shall be great seniors :D

Hi all, there will be an exhibition on Andy Warhol's original prints on the 17th and 18th Nov 2007, from 10am to 10pm at Mohamed Sultan Road. It's free admission and according to TIME Asia, there will be workshops conducted by "an international art curator and various Andy Warhol experts", so even though we're not AEP, I say it's a good learning opportunity and we should all go! Besides, it's FOC and we should all get out of the house during the hols.

If anyone's interested in this activity or wishes to know more about Andy Warhol, here's the link. And maybe we can have class bonding after that too! :)

This programme has chose a few topics ALL of us should listen to! On Monday, the topic is Neoclassicism, featuring Pulcinella and the classical symphony! On Tuesday, we find Hindemith in their show on Gebrauchmusik!

A few recordings of Tchaikovsky's violin concerto, a handful of Rossini (for Zenn), Pictures at the Exhibition (For the trumpeters, Petite suite (Gabriel and Timothy) AND MANY MORE...

HII this is my first post here yayyy:) anyway, i was just thinking that it would be really nice if someone could design a special layout for our very cool blog:) anyone kind enough to do that? unfortunately i'm quite useless when it comes to html/photoshop stuff so i can't do it myself.

okay and on to my repertoire... i really don't think that any the pieces i'm playing now suits the shanghainese mafia(?!?) theme; but then, which few classical pieces do? maybe those errr 20th century atonal/pentatonic scale-based pieces do. anyhow, i think i'll playing whatever libertango piece that royce(is it royce?) mentioned. yup:)

Hello everyone!!!!!
Shall we go catch a movie together as a class next week? GV is screening an Opera by Tan Dun in "Metropolitan Opera: The First Emperor" Apparently, it has been pretty well received... So much that it has been sold out this week!!! (I was planning to watch during the weekends but it sold out...) Anyway, they are extending the screening to next week... Since we would be free next week, would anyone be interested in to catch this super cool Opera??? Shall we go as a class??? It will be cool to have another big scale class outing!
The screening times from Monday to Wednesdays are ONLY at 7.00 pm

Reasons why you should join publicity committee for our concert:

1) You can develop your programmes so wonderful, but if there's no publicity,

Ticketing people will have to work hard to attract people to purchase our tickets
Can you even showcase your talents to a wider range of audiences?
Remember our March concert? I don't wish to say it further.

2) No/little publicity also means too much ticketing and programme done.

Is there a need for too many (from my view it is now pretty alright, no offence intended) people on ticketing and programme committees? Boring is the word.
Poor division of manpower and organisation. We do not want to be criticised for it.
Your friends' effort in ticketing and programme are going into the drain. Do you want it?

3) Publicity is the time for you to spread to the mass. Mass comm?

Wanna showcase your compositions, talents or our cool, exciting theme? Join publicity.
Love designing posters? Publicity is for you.
Have lotsa frens and love talking to them? An extrovert? Be in publicity.
If we can prepare an advertisement for TV messaging system, and you have the ideas for it, why not?
Having creativity juices flowing? Can't resist? Follow me.
One day you might have to publicise your performances, but if the turnout were poor, wouldn't you regret having your concert in the 1st place?

Have fun in your own committees. Lastly, good luck for your practicals and promos.
